By default the game follows Custom Unit costs, Custom Units and Damage calculations similar to those of Days of Ruins. However, this can be customized through several options.

Enforcing Advance Wars 2 Rules

  • Click on Options
  • Go to Mods at the top of the Window
  • Check 'Advance Wars 2 CO Mod', 'Advance Wars 2 Damage Formula', 'Advance Wars Dual Strike Unit Mod'
  • Click Exit; the game will restart

Removing CO specific Units

  • When starting a new match, and selecting a map, a rule selection window will appear
  • On this window click 'Show Advanced'
  • Under the Advanced 'Gameplay' rules, you can uncheck 'CO Specific Units'
  • Click 'Next'

Banning Specific COs from being selected

  • When starting a new match, and selecting a map, a rule selection window will appear
  • On this window click 'Show Advanced'
  • Scroll down until you find 'CO Banlist'
  • Click 'Edit'
  • Uncheck the COs you do not want allowed to be selected,or select from the preloaded lists
  • Click 'Save'
  • Give your Banlist a name and click 'Ok'
  • Click 'Save' and then 'Next'
  • The list of available COs will now match your selection only

Banning Specific Units from a Match

  • Select a Map and Click 'Next' when the Rules Window appears
  • On the CO selection screen, scroll to the right, you will see buttons labeled 'Build List'
  • If you click the topmost one, you can restrict units for all players, by unchecking them
  • You can also restrict units per each participant, if you click the same 'Build List' button, at the same level as the character selection option, for that participant
